A stroll around the Garden

August is almost here and the garden is still going strong. Thanks to some nice rainfall and cooler temps this summer, the garden is bursting in color. The bees were out in full force. Yes, they have a job to do. There are definitely more bees and butterflies this summer compared to last.

The Coral Vine is stretching out over the fence.

I recently purchased a Mexican Lime Tree. Can't wait to make some Magaritas!

The Milkweed is just waiting for the Monarch and Queen butterflies to show up.

The view of the back bed is my favorite. Knockout Roses, Blackfoot Daisy, Damianita, Cora Vincas and Black & Blue Salvia/Sage are all putting on a show.

Even though we have had a pretty pleasant summer, I have to admit I'm ready for Fall. How about you?

  1. Nice walk, very pretty flowers. I'd be ready for fall if it didn't mean winter is right behind it. Not that our winters are bad, but I'd like to see more flowers for a while.

    1. Thanks Shirley. We had such a mild winter last year. Wonder what this year will bring. I would like to have to the temps a little lower. Maybe in the mid 80's:)

  2. Everything looks so happy...especially compared to last summer. I was just thinking this morning that I'm not wishing this summer away like I did last year. It's been downright pleasant so far! But I'm partial to autumn and always love that first cool breeze that blows in!

    1. This summer has been such a relief compared to last summer. I don't think we could have handled another summer like last year.

  3. I love the Mexican Lime. I bought one last year. I've been very pleased with it. It's very productive and the limes are so juicy. Yours look loaded with fruit and all your flowers look great!

    1. Thank you Ally. My Lime tree has started to drop some of its leaves. I think it is getting adjusted to its new spot. When I purchased it, it was in the shade. Do you water yours a lot? I'm trying to figure out if it needs more water.

    1. Thank you Maggie. We still have a long way to go before we finish landscaping the yard. I guess that is what makes gardening fun, the constant planning and changing. Stay cool! PS You are welcome to come over anytime for margaritas and stroll around the garden:)
