My birthday gift

My DH (dear hubby) bought me a birthday gift that I have wanted for a long time.... a Meyer Lemon tree. I love my little lemon tree and can't wait to harvest some fresh lemons this summer. I've noticed I'm not the only one loving this little tree. The bees and butterflies and swarming it.

The DH also bought me a gorgeous flower arrangement.

As I near the middle years of my life, I realized that I have learned some important life lessons. Here are just a few...

  3. That's a very nice gift...or two. I keep seeing everybody's lemon trees. Makes me think I should see if we could keep one alive here.

    Happy Birthday!!

    1. Thank you Linda. I've heard of other garden bloggers having success with their lemon trees, I thought I would give it a try. I think just as long as you cover it or bring it indoors when it freezes you should be ok.

  4. Happy Birthday! Oh my goodness but you are going to love that little tree! I'm still using lemons from this last harvest! I've posted a few recipes and will post some time soon about the preserved lemons I made this week.

    1. Thank you Cat. This must have been a good year for Meyer lemons because I've heard of several bloggers that had a "fruitful" (pun intended) harvest. I'll definitely check out your wonderful recipes.
